Protective Custody

How healthy is the leadership in your church? Have you thought about it? Are your leaders modeling after the leadership shown in Jesus Christ? Is the leadership effective in meeting the needs of the people? Are they researching before they teach? Are they coaching what they teach? Are they constantly in a state of planning, or responding from a prayer life directing their leadership in the church?

Jesus is our Shepherd. He gave us the picture of what a leader needs to be. A leader is not about being the pastor. It is not about being the president of a company. It is not about being the chairman of yet another committee. It is not about age. It is not about ability or availability!

So with all of this said..what does a person need to be to be an effective sheherd? All through the Bible God talks about the heart of man. You can be many things in your lifetime, but, to be the person God has called you to, one must start with a willing heart. You will never know the heart of God unless you are committed to prayer and submission. It is when you are this committed to God, that He will use your abilities to plan, coach, research and teach others. He will take your life into protective custody to be used in His will, teaching by His Spirit to reach the results which will affect others.
