| Patches of Life |

As a quilter I am always amazed and pleased by the patches of material that form a pattern in front of my eyes as I work them to form a completed work. Often I am stumped by the instructions and do not always see the pattern in the blocks. Yet, as I follow the directions and take each step, one at a time..a finished work begins to appear.
The same can be considered in the patchwork pieces of our lives. Far too often we allow emotions, coupled with desires, to take us away from the total picture that God desires in our life. We become confused by the evil one. We look at what we perceive to be a pattern of defeat or living and see hopelessness. We focus on ourselves instead of living by faith. The tests and trials become mountains and we find ourselves living in a baron desert.
However, God’s Word tells us different. He tells us we are His Masterpiece. He tells us we are uniquely created for His purposes. He reminds us that He will work all things our for the good of those who love Him. He promises that no problem is too big for Him and we will see victory if we but take one step at a time and trust Him. He reminds us that He will take the broken pieces and patchwork chapters of our life and create something beautiful. He promises that he takes all of our experiences, failures, joys and heartaches and works them together for His glory. There is nothing greater then to be come a work of Christ to others, for then we continue to be what He has patterned for each one who loves Him. Glory!
