The mission of
Doc Gospel Ministries
We define "today's generation", as those living today regardless of age, but our main focus is on the youth of this country.
WHY YOUTH?
Satan has been attacking the family ever since man first sinned against God. God created the family, satan wants to destroy it. Their is an old addage that; "a chain is only as strong as its weakest leak". Today satan is attacking that weakest link, our children!
We have not only allowed satan to attack our families, we have invited him home for dinner. We have provided him a place to stay. How can children 'relate' to the image of God as a caring, loving father, when all they have for comparison is an 'earthly father'?
- 3 children every day are killed by their parents, one father in 4 is a child abuser.
- Every year, 1.5 million children are so mistreated by their parents that they have to be removed from the parents.
Three million children are abused every year,
that's 1 every 10 seconds!
1 out of 3 girls are abused, 1 out of 5 boys. More children die from child abuse and neglect than any other single cause, most of the children who die are younger than 5 years of age.
Every 17 minutes a child commits suicide!
Girls are 4 times more likely to commit suicide after having an abortion. There are an average of 3,742 abortions a day.Almost every third baby conceived in America is killed by abortion.
- Children watch an average of 22-28 hours of television a week, more than any other activity except sleeping. By graduation from high school, children will have watched 18,000 hours of television as compared to 13,000 hours of school. The average home television is on 8 1/2 hours a day.
The average American child will have watched 100,000 acts of televised violence, including 8000 depictions of murder, by the time he or she finishes sixth grade (approx. 13 yrs. old).
- Every hour over 26 acts of violence, including rape and murder, can be seen on television, usually in graphic detail.
No wonder our children are so insensitive!
- 75% of the people 'saved', are saved before the age of 16. The odds of accepting Christ begin to shift dramatically with age.
- From 25-35, only one person in 10,000 are saved.
- From 35-45 the odds are one out of 50,000.
Is it any wonder that families with children make up 40% of the homeless population?
It's time to kick satan out of the family and if parents can't do it....then it is up to the children!
We use a wide range of tools to reach our youth, from preaching/teaching, street ministry and Bible studies. Tracts, school and church programs aimed at teaching them that "God is their source".
We use one-on-one witnessing, puppets, and 'gospel magic', to share the gospel message with them. Through this, we build self-esteem, pride in being a "child of God", that the promises of God are theirs, and to instill in them that all is NOT lost and they CAN make a difference.
